American Pantheist Church
Beliefs:
The American Pantheist Church is an Internet based, not-for-profit religious, ecological and educational society. We are committed to be a non-denominational organization however most of our beliefs are based on a combination of traditional Pantheist, Naturalist and Humanists principles as discussed in a number of excellent WEB sites on the Internet. In simple terms, we subscribe to the underlying concept of these philosophies that "God is the Universe and the Universe is God".
Religious Guides:
Although our religious society generally subscribes to the concept that each man can and should serve as his own doorkeeper to the cosmic universe, many of us are more comfortable with a guide or religious leader who is qualified to provide counseling, religious instruction and attendance to the proper conduct and management of our special ritual functions. For these reasons, our society has elected to grant certain certifications and ordinations of religious leadership to selected and qualified members of the church.
Member Sponsorship:
The American Pantheist Church has an open door policy for almost everyone to explore, examine and compare our philosophy and beliefs to that of any contemporary religion. We welcome new members and pledge to share our experience and positive message with anyone who has lost faith with the failings, threats and false promises of his current religion. However, we do not proselyte or aggressively recruit casual visitors in order to expand our membership. Each new member must request entry into our church society and be sponsored by a current member who will vouch for the applicant's good character and sincere interest in our way of life.
Internet Congregation:
Currently, our primary emphasis is on establishing our church society as an active Internet based organization and therefore, most of the information provided herein is directed towards that end. However, our long term, and most important objective, is to sponsor many local semi-independent congregations that can properly service our members with personalized services.
Local Congregations:
Qualified individuals who desire to become ordained as professional religious leaders and interested in satisfying certain local government rules and regulations required to perform legal weddings and related services are encouraged to establish their own church congregations.
